Latise

We built a confidential token system using Zama FHE, enabling private transfers and encrypted balances on EVM networks.
Public blockchains make every transaction visible by design, creating a difficult tradeoff for applications that need both on-chain transparency and financial privacy.
Latise was built to explore how users could retain the security and composability of EVM networks while keeping token balances and transaction amounts confidential, making private payments and financial operations possible without abandoning existing blockchain infrastructure.
We built a confidential token layer using Zama's Fully Homomorphic Encryption, allowing users to shield ERC-20 assets, transfer encrypted amounts, and decrypt their balances when needed.
The biggest engineering challenge was making Zama's FHE runtime work alongside Privy's wallet infrastructure. We isolated the FHE SDK inside a dedicated iframe with the required security headers, then built a typed postMessage bridge between the iframe and the main application, allowing both systems to operate without compromising either integration.
